RULES FOR THE PICKS COMPETITION
The competition is open to anyone. Previous players will always be given priority, before the first race of the season, in the unlikely event of there being more than the maximum number of 46 players. There is no entrance fee or prizes offered.
New players will be able to join the competition, at anytime, up to and including the 4th race of the season, subject to the maximum number of 46 players. They will be awarded a starting score, equaling the lowest of the current players. They will also be awarded the lowest points in the Drivers / Constructors Tables as a one off points addition, at the end of the season.
Prior to the start of the first session for each race weekend, players must submit their picks, on the Trackforum website, http://www.trackforum.com/, for the relevant race. Anyone can start the race thread, if it hasn't already been started.
The following Race Picks, must be submitted for each race:-
Pole Position, before any penalty is applied. 3 points
Slowest Qualifier, with a time. 1 point Slowest from top 4 teams from the previous season
So, for 2005, will be from MS, RB, BUT, SAT, ALO, FIS, WEB & HEI
Fastest Lap. 1 point
Number of cars on the lead lap at the end of the race. 1 point
Top 8 Drivers, scoring 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point respectively. A bonus of 3 points for each driver's position correctly selected.
The following Picks must be submitted before the first session of the season:-
The top 8 Drivers of the seasons World Championship, scored the same as per the top 8 Drivers for a race, as in paragraph 4.
Pick the race number in which the Drivers World Championship is decided. 3 points
The top 8 Constructors of the seasons World Championship, scored the same as above.
Pick the race number in which the Constructors World Championship is decided. 3 points
Players will be deducted 3 points for posting their Picks after the start of the first session of a race weekend but before the first session on Saturday. Picks posted after that will be deemed Missed and the previous Picks will be used (still deducted 3 points). If the player fails to post the Picks before the first session of the following race weekend, they will score zero in that race. The player will be removed from the game if no Picks are posted before the first session in the following race.
If a player is scheduled to go away for a period, which might affect continuity in the competition, then please state that in the last Picks that you can post. State when you want the Picks to run to. They will then be used until that date.
The results used, will be those posted on the FIA's website.
As ever, I want to run the competition 100% fairly. If anyone ever comes across a mistake, please state so on the Trackforum website and the mistake will be looked into. The spreadsheet has over 72,000 calculations and I'm only human!
